The Entrepreneurial Spirit

During these unstable times, we are often paranoid with what will happen in our world. Sometimes it is just too difficult to conjure up hope to keep going. Which is why we wanted to create a sense of hope, to tell you that everything is ok, during those times when you feel it’s not.  

Presenting Eggie - an elegant, decorative, and customizable nightlight that promotes a sense of tranquility and mindfulness, creating a cozy atmosphere for those you care about and love.

What is Eggie?

Eggie is an elegant, decorative & personalizable nightlight. With its waterproof exterior, wireless charging capabilities, and light-sensitive function, Eggie can light up your world wherever you go.

Why did you create Eggie?

From the outset, our goal was to create a portable night light that was both beautiful and versatile. As we delved deeper into the design intentions behind this project, we realized that Eggie could also provide a warm, lovely ambiance for loved ones. Consequently, we promoted Eggie as a source of love, happiness, and various other positive emotions.

What does your project journey look like?

Inspired by minimalist design philosophy, we sought a visual representation of simple beauty. After considering various potential colors for the product, we chose "white" as the theme color. This color conveys the idea of a "blank canvas" without any limitations, which leaves space for artist to express their creativity on the product.

We created a set of emojis for Eggie with the aim of attracting attention from children.

In addition to product design, I also concentrated on the business aspects of this project. My responsibilities ranged from designing marketing materials and planning media activities, to executing product launch strategies.

Egge was launched on Kickstarter.com for crowdfunding, and we managed to raise nearly $40,000 within a month. We also decided to launch our product on PVCC (Pacific Venture Capital Conference) as student entrepreneurs to raise more funds from venture capitalists.
